Default Iraq puppy...will you help??

I am not going to get into the story, you can read it yourself here (it's very short):

http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/10/14/ira...ml?eref=rss_us

Please sign the petition (there's a link on the page with the article) and spread the word. As an animal lover and also knowing there are quite few on this board, I hope you'll try and make a difference and show your support.

i agree 100% but it's been done before....if i can help just one person who fought for our freedoms here at home, i will...it's the least i can do....especially someone so compassionate to save a puppy and being guilty of only wanting to care for it after the fact....

with so much blood shed there, it's encouraging to see some people holding onto their humanity and seeing the beauty in saving an animal's life

Got an update looks like ratchet is going to make it home.. woohoo!@!

EMAIL:

Hi G3, Thank you for signing the petition, Clemency for Ratchet! We have an important update: First, the good news: thanks to pressure from folks like you, SPCA International's Operation Baghdad Pups secured Ratchet's release!

Then, the bad news: the military did NOT release him in time for the flight back home on Wednesday. They gave Ratchet clearance to be released just 30 minutes before SPCA International's rescue expert, Terri Crisp, was to lift off from the Baghdad tarmac and he missed the flight. SPCA International plans to make another emergency return trip to Baghdad to rescue Ratchet as soon as Sunday.

That is great to hear. I have been to that part of the world and it is hard on all military members.
