Try getting quotes from other companies.. dont know if its the same in your state, but the cheapest insurance rates in NY are usually through Insurance Brokers

My driving record is loaded with violations and suspensions (was a young idiot with fast cars/bikes) im 28 and pay $1280 total a yr for full coverage on my truck and bike

shop around - try geico or somebody else, you can probably get a lower rate. Also welcome to the forum - use the "search" feature as this topic is beaten to death in many different threads

19 with new license AND a new bike. That is all three of the most dangerous things for an insurance company. (highest fatality rate of all driving age groups, more than half of all MC accidents happen to those who've been riding 6 months or less, and new bikes cost more and get stolen at a higher rate.)

FWIW, I pay $125 a year for full coverage with medicalon my 92 600.

Yea, that sounds pretty ridiculously high to me. Then again, new rider + new bike = accident prone. Best bet is to take the new bike out of the equation, if you just got your licence there is no reason for you to get a new bike, remember the quote "Everyone drops itat least once." It's much better to drop one that's cheap

I realize you're not asking for opinions on anything other then insurance, but I'd strongly suggest getting an older bike to start on, then after a year or so hop on a new one.

(FWIW: I've had my licence for about 5 years now, full coverage on my 2000 F4 is about $200 a year from GEICO.)

thanks for the advice, i kno i shouldnt b looking at a new bike, but i was figuring that if i see the price of insurance of a new bike if i bought like a 2003 it would b cheaper haha. And make me happier.. I have been riding dirtbikes for most of my life so i know how to ride, also friends ride and im on theres all the time. And yes i know im gonna go down, there are two kinds of riders. "those that have gone down and those that are going to go down"... but now i have gotten calls from statefarm and geico telling me that they wont even insure me.. I forgot to mention im 19 with 2 careless driving tickets and a not at fault accident. The tickets should b off my license by now tho. but they dont want to insure me.
