LOL(its not really that funny) i could see it being a little high because of it being financed but not that high. what do you guys think? way too high or what?

I have minimum coverage. My bike's a '92 & I bought it for 2500$. I figured any damage/repairs I'll pay for myself. My insurance is 18$/mo through State Farm.

LOL, sounds like all of you guys are from States. I wish we had your rates.

I am from Ontario, Canada and here Ontario Insurance companies are currently public enemies #1. Actually Insurance companies in Ontario are now known to be bigger MOB than the Gouvernment.

An average rate in Ontario for a sport bike is around $3,000.00, I am paying $1,700.00 a year and that is considered deacent here.
Insurance rates for sportbikes as high as $5,000.00 - $7,000.00 are not uncommon.

Insurance in Ontario is so bad that it is most likely going to become a major elections issue during next elections in the Province.

Also in Ontario about 1 out of 5 bikes is actually riding with no insurance, can you blame them?

There is also no logical reason for this, simply money, in Ontario last year Insurance companies reported over 4 Billion dollars profit.

We could use some assassins here, that's for sure.

There are several things you have to look at. I pay 62.50 a month. But I am 30, (KNOCK ON WOOD) no tickets or wrecks and I pay my vehicle and renters insurance all through the same company. I am with American Family. There were prereqs before they would insure my bike. #1 10 years driving experience. #2 5 years motorcycle experience and I think there was one other thing but I don't remember it. So I get discounts because I have been with them for so long with no claims. Also, I am going to a Motorcycle Defense Course in April (Army requirements) and that will save me a little more. All of that is just food for thought.

I'm with USAA. I've been with them for a few years now. I pay a total of $132 a month. That includes full coverage on my car, with a $250 deductible, renters insurance, and full coverage on my bike. My bike is paid for, but I figure why take any chances. If something happens, I want to know i'm covered to get another one with no problems.

I pay $68.00 for 6 months through GiecoCycle for my '01 929RR. My bike has just over 5K miles. I am 30 and have accidents or tickets on my license...plus military discounts.
