Default Is it illegal?

So I dropped my f2 and decided to turn her into a street fighter. Went ahead and stripped her naked. I left the windscreen on and did some magic to keep the headlight on without the front fairings being there

So here's the question, would it be illegal to run without my gauges? The only thing I really have left to do is is take out the big gauge nest and the mount for it. I really don't feel like spending $200+ for a fancy digital. So would it be illegal to ride with no speedometer/odometer? Or is there any analog speedometers I could hook up? Thanks!

it's not illegal. but it's ill-advised. you'll run out of gas (because you'll have no idea what your mileage is), and you'll most likely speed (because it's just too easy to do on a sportbike).

there are plenty of analog gauges. if you want minimalist, check this out

Danmoto Classic - MPH/Chrome [SP-00009] - $130.00

Those are sick, I'd rather have an RPM gauge though for $130 honestly, I can still judge my speed withen like 5 to 10 MPHif Iknow my RPM's. But it would only be temporary anyway. I so badly want to rip my gauges off and take off my windscreen and the bracket already! Thanks man now I can do it and feel a little safe on the legal end lol. The only reason I really care about mileage is so I know when to change my oil, I usually just let the beast hit reserve and I know I have 15 miles to find a station

All I need is the tach. I'm serious when I say I know my speed by my RPM's I honestly never use my fourth and fifth gear. Because I stunt I know my speed to RPM ratio, first tops at 35, second tops at 65, third tops at 90, sixth tops at 145(give or take 5 MPH depending on wind. Highway riding I'm religiously on 6th gearunlesss I'm in traffic, then it doesn't matter because in california a cop wont even try to pull you over in traffic if he is in a car, and ntheres hardly any motorcycle cops on the highway where I am, and even so, a bike cop will lane split with you(no joke).

Why wouldn't they? I was under the impression lane splitting was actually legal in CA.

It is legal in CA. It is pretty much the only thing that state has going for it...

lane splitting is legal, which is why cops in the cars never pull bikes over unless thewy alreadfy have the plate number. I NEVER even acknowledge the cops in cars because to me they don't mean ****, they will turn on the lights, then the next second you can't even see me...Especailly nighttime. I DO NOT condone the activity I just explainvandc it is very illegal and if you dont know your bike up and down and in between, you WILL get ****ed eventually.. But on the other handddddd if you get good with your baby you won't even give one ****n about a cop... Which is illegal, so don't go around doing wheelies in front of cops like me if yolu can't afford the consequences, because trust me, you will get caught one day, as we all have, bikers are just lucky enough to avoid thatn more
