It's about $4k more for the Competition package, the version with blue wheels. The physical differences don't justify the price jump, imo. Both sets of wheels are forged aluminum, just the comps are blue. The black fairings are carbon fiber. The rearsets are BMW Racing adjustable rearsets. And it comes with stickers I still can't figure out how cosmetic upgrades make it more competitive

Oh and they've been sold out since the announcement

okay, looks like preload and springs work the good ole fashion way. so i would assume, after that, your DDC is going to "know" or "feel" what forces are being applied to the shock - then adjust via TPS, wheel speed, and the other factors. i would assume since it's reacting (as opposed to preemptively deciding for you) - that it wouldn't matter what your weight is as much as you think it will. if you put it in sportiest mode and it beats you to death on a nice back road, i assume you'll have your answer. but then switching it down a mode should soften it up a bit for you.

i re-read some articles on it today. (i had nothing to do at this event i was working). but i think you'll be fine if you get your pre load set up right.

$150-$250 in PC or paint depending on which paint or powdercoat shop you use.... no need for the extra $4k. you could the exact paint numbers to match it. or you could wait until someone bins it and pick up parts of fleabay

Hope so Conrice. I can't wait to try the ddc in action. Every review of the system says it's like having a suspension tech at every stop sign to retune it. And 've hit some of the more frustrating limitations in the traction control on the '11. Like the throttle response i like is in Race mode but that loosens the TC too much for street riding imo. Good example: no rear wheel lift detection in Race mode (lifted the rear once already). Now I've got to survive a month

Also going to look at getting a Cycleshell and a anchor. S1ks are kinda rare here in Philly but HP4s are rare in the world, period. Theyre numbered afterall. Definitely gonna bolt her down when I'm not around.

Oh and bonus: the standard package I'm getting comes with heated grips and the pillion seat / rearsets, along with the pillion cover. Still have no intention of bringing a passenger. But the option is nice if I ever meet a woman I can trust enough on the back
