Default I think I am going crazy

So I just got a new job last week. I was so hyped up to leave my old job(now part time been there almost 8 years). So I got this new job and I thought heck ya this is going to be great. I get a cubical, a chair and a computer. I thought this wont be bad since I have to work on customer inquiry's all day. Well now I find out that its all pissed off customers e-mailing us since we buy all our cheap stuff from china and they don't even check it to see if it works. I mean every person is pissed off from there car chargers starting almost a electrical fire in there car to there phone cases don't work. Best part of all if you don't write perfect English in all your lettering and do 150-250 e-mails a day you get yelled at. No matter what you do you get yelled at. I am torn on what to do. Do I just quit and just keep working at my other job that I have for 8 years and look for another or what? This new place keeps yelling at me since I don't do this right or that right. But they admit they don't want to train anybody since they don't have time. There too "busy" to take time to help somebody else out. They think everything is like there home land. Sell a lot and who cares if the customer is mad. The more we sell the better off we are.

Any advice?

Btw I hate sitting in a cubical all day. Not sure how somebody does it. Thought it would be the greatest thing and now I hate it. Stuck in one spot all day.

wow..what was your old job? I sat in a cubicle for 6 months and hated it after working in a garage. Now I do HVAC which gives me the freedom to move around. Best choice for you would prob be to stick this out, try your best and find something that makes you happier. My .2 (but don't ask me I'm just a newb)

I run a call center that handles tech support for digital video, while my team members are required to reach certain productivity goals, they are set with the expectation of what a normal individual that has been properly trained can accomplish. Very few of my people have any problem hitting our goals unless they're complete retards or screwoffs.

You sound like you're working for people that give 2 ***** about employee retention or development. They sound like the supervisors/managers are probably only evaluated on production numbers, probably on some strict requirements themselves. It's not a very stable or employee-focused environment to work in. Even worse is that they don't seem to be really concerned for their customers, or issue resolution as well, so you get no real job satisfaction from doing what you do.

Sux bro - but stick with what makes you happy, the new gig isn't worth whatever they're paying you.

yeah man if you hate the cubicle why do it all the time and be miserable. If youre making better money there then try to stick it out and look for a different job thatll let you do what makes you happy then tell your bosses to eff off once you find one. If you cant even deal with that or its not worth it then definitely go back to your old job in the mean time while you look for a better one. If you ask me id say youll regret not leaving there in the long run once you look back on it. Like adrenaln said...do what makes you happy

Life is too short to be $hit on at what sounds like a terrible job. Quit today or until you find another job. You'll be 10 times better off and realize you should of done this alot sooner.

FYI - There not going to give you a 2 week notice when they fire you so I wouldn't give them a 2 week notice when you plan to leave.

The verdict is I did quit. I sat down the payroll speicalist in the morning and discussed about a few things. Her and I seen a lot of eye to eye. She agreed that they are doing a bad job of training me and that they don't understand how our culture is "they are from china". She told me to sit down and talk to the supervisor and discuss things. I later sat down with him and discussed that this position I am in isn't a good fit for me. I asked if I could be transferred to a different department and he said no. He told me he wanted me to only stay in this position as long as I work here. I told him about the lack of communication and that nobody wants to help anybody its all for themselves. He just ignored it. I then told him I have to resign from this job and go else were. I handed in my badge. I'll be going back to my old job in the mean time till I find something new.

P.S: My customer support rocked. There is a guy from LA that is on a TV show that I was helping. He was so impressed with me he gave me a link of his music he does. I added him on facebook as a friend lol.

Gotta say that I think I would have done the same. You cant be stuck somewhere you absolutely hate just for a job. It makes it very hard to actually go into work

very dreadful to wake up in the morning and go somewhere where is the last place on the planet you want to be at. right decision by me, as long as you can provide for yourself and your family.
