I really really want one of these
Friend called around a while ago on one of these (although his does not have the fly screen). Just picked it up from the local dealer that gave him a better trade in on his Sprint.
Pic does not do justice to wot it looks like in the flesh, the note from the pipes is just beautifull, heard him coming from yonks away.
Want one, but it ain't gunna happen, sigh.
Oh yeah, its a Triumph Thruxton.

I rode an old Norton Commando across the US, back in the day, Chicago to LA, and across to Galveston, Tx. Never missed a beat.
Gawd, I loved that old bike...........

RE: I really really want one of these
Classic, about a year before I got the CBR, the traveling Triumph show came to town, Triumph lends the local dealer their bikes for a day (Saturday's usually) & a whole lot of desperates (like myself) show up & thrash the crap out of these bikes on local roads (in this case the Old Pacific highway, yowsa) Local dealer hopes at least one of us will put some cash down for a new model.
Anyway I rode a few of them, Sprint, Bonneville, T Bird etc & made my mind up to buy the Sprint, I liked em, right about the speed etc, but they are a well made bike, unlike the later Meridan ones they replaced.
Anways when the time came to get one, the stealership also sold Yammies & Honda's & they had my eventual CBR on the shop floor. But there is something about the Thruxton (maybe 'new'/old style mix nostalgia?) I am an old bastard remember. (Better than being an old country member I guess)
