I Love Hondas
Yesterday I got jealous of my friend who was messing around on his dirtbike, so I decide to finally resurrect mine from certain death.
I own a 1979 Honda XR75. The bike has been in my parents garage for over 2 years now completely untouched. The first order of business was to fix the flat tire (which is why it was out of order in the first place). So I patch the innertube (5 holes) and fill it up with and she looks pretty good, no leaks. The next thing on the list is to clean the carb, luckily I wasn't a complete idiot when I layed it to rest because I emptied the gas tank then (thank god). Well I remove and disassemble the carb cleaning every port and needle. Put her all back together, fill her up with some gas and what do you know probally less than 10 kicks later she is purrying like a kitten.I take her for the "first ride" down the street and break up some of the carbon and sludge in the combustion chamber. Once she is warmed up I turn off the choke and she is even idleing perfect.
What a bike, if someone can make abetter quality, more reliable, or more durablebike I would like to hear their story...

i got one that can one up honda. my aunt gave me a dirt bike, a 1975 yamaha dt400. had been sitting for 15 years. I put gas in it and kicked it over. ran perfect.
Well yesterday I took the XR75 for a spin in the field across the street. What a blast can't wait till I get more more to buy a 125cc or bigger.
Anyways I also started teaching my wife how to drive (you know, the bike is a 5-speed manual).
Here are some pics from the day.

Did you not see...
the front fender is missing the front part,
the dents in the tank,
the side covers being held on by twisty ties,
the paint is chiping, and
after riding yesterday I have noticed that there is amedium dent in the front rim.
Not to mention this was and is my first dirt bike I have ever owned and crashed it over a dozen times.
This thing is built like a tank!
Even after all those crashes and harsh driving when I was learning and after I had learned she still rides like new.
