Yea thats what i always thought.

 

^^^This is what I was always told it means. My dad has it tattooed on his shoulder.

 

I thought this was interesting: an 'acronym' is actually a word formed from initials or parts of other words, such as RADAR, from radio detecting and range.

Something like FTW is termed an 'initialism', which is much more boring, and can only be verbally spelled out letter by letter.
