I am sure there will be plenty of time over the winter. Already got the simple green too.

I really do like the look, even though I think I am a little more partial to the 600rr it wasn't something I could afford at the moment and I figured this was a better route to go.

After I am pretty confident I am not going to trash it, it will probably get some new skin, at least so it matches. Anybody know how much it might cost to get the original look (the tail section as the front is just matte black )

That my freind, will be the difficult part, maybee still find the decals avail, or look for a barts bike with your scheme. if i were you , i would ride the **** out of it the way it is... then down the road a bit start savin for your 600 RR. it can add up fast trying to go back to stock believe it or not, I rapped up $1200 trying to bring my 900RR back to stock and in the end ive got way more in the bike than i can get back out. Make sur that is the bike you want to keep before dumpin all the cash crash. However Imma big fan of older CBRs so i could go both ways, but let me tell you, the newer bikes out there are super strong and responsive , Fuel injection rips. IMO njoy your F2 the way it is.big bang , low buck..peece

+1 to all that. I've thrown plenty of money at my f3 in a year, most of it things that I just wanted to add. It's very easy to find stuff you want to do to your bike!!

Yes, there is a huge difference between the cost of a whole bike and the cost of the parts. For the cost of the entire bike you can buy about 5 parts if you pick them poorly. That's why parts bikes make so much sense.

A guy thinks he's got a bike nobody wants, when he really has a ton of parts that could be sold. But that's REALLY time consuming.

I was just curious. I can get a whole set of plastics "cheap" on ebay and get the same effect. I just think it would look better if it was all the same. I don't plan on investing a lot of money I just wanted it to look less like a beater

Maybe after I beat it up a little bit. I think that I may not be allowed to buy a new one for a while anyway.

I think what you will find is that everyone has the same problem. Good bike, bad plastic. But apparently demand is never enough to create an aftermarket supplier. The pieces are generally expensive as heck.

OTOH, I hear that body work is the answer. The plastics can be repaired and repainted relatively easily. A lot of guys even do their own, and there are lots of tips/how to's around. You can still get the right paint, and then you buy the decals. Bike shops do it all the time too, of course.
