Huck big
Get use to me round here cuz I have a broken collarbone and I plan on being super bored for the next few months. So the story goes I was mtn biking at the oakley freeride park this morning. There was a 3 pack of jumps that I was eyeballing while my buddy nailed them a few times so I figured I match his speed and everything works out ok. Well my friend has a downhill bike which I quickly learned soaks up his speed at the lip whereas my hardtail just launches. So off the first lip and I soared way past the landing and landed on the second lip from a pretty intense speed and height. I made a taco of my back rim and went down. I heard the pop loud and clear but it took me a minute to realize what it was. Really the only thing that hurt were my nuts from nailing the frame.
I always figured this would be a crazy painful one to break but it was by far the most mellow one ever. Honestly if it's properly supported it dosen't even hurt. We'll see how it feels in a few days. The big kicker though is that I just got dropped from medical ins earlier this week. Cross my fingers for no surgery otherwise I'm screwed. Happy thanksgiving everone.

that sucks bro hopefully you get better atleast you didnt do it while on your ducatti.. that would've been worse because youd've to fix your bike as well as your self and all the time you were sitting there in pain seeing your wrecked bike would make it worse .. good luck man .. i guess the ponit of my rambling was things could always be worse !
I know nothing about mountain biking. ON the other hand, I know a lot about hurting myself. Don't know where you live but be gald you did it during the cold season, nothing worse than it being really nice outside and not being able to do anything about it.
So sorry Corey. I thought for a second that it happened on your Duc., but I am glad you are okay and so is your motorcicle. I don't think any surgery takes place for the collar bone. I'm pretty sure they just let it heal because your body will create extra calcium deposits around the bone to make an even stronger bond than before. I jacked my shoulder where the collar bone intersects the shoulder bone, and it hurt like a son of a bitch for about two weeks. I asked the doctor about it, and she said it was a third degree something or another, and that they never do any surgery for that. Hopefully you can get some vics. or percs. for your troubles.[sm=outcold.gif]
