RE: How to trip a traffic light with a motorcycle
Ha here in the good old SLV we aren't technologically advanced enough to have that... so its stop, drop first and roll... I think thats why they taught me that in school.... hmmmm...

RE: How to trip a traffic light with a motorcycle
sometimes you can see where the pavement has been cut for the sensors; it's shaped like a rectangle with the left and right sides located about a car width apart. if you can't see them, assume they are just inside a the tire width of a typical car. if you ride down the length of one of these sides, you will be placing more mass over a larger lenth of wire for a longer period of time.
i line up over the left or right line (left or right tire groove). i haven't had a problem yet, but i typically drive over newer roadways. i can see how older intersections with older equipment or sensors under several layers of asphalt could exacerbate the issue. here's a link with some technical info (meant for bicyclists but applicable) and some more links at the bottom: http://www.humantransport.org/bicycl.../detection.htm here's another link testing the "GLT" for motorcycles on a bicycle: http://bicycleuniverse.info/transpo/...g-signals.html |
