So you obviously have a lot of bird experience - every bird I have ever met has only liked a single person. Can you recommend one that will be friendly to visitors, or at least be easily trained when it is young? I've never had a bird but I think they're awesome and would love to get one.

 

You have to teach them young and have to keep them around people a lot. If you do not bring people around the bird then the bird will only be bonded to you. I have one bird that is that way. he is a pit bull to everyone but me. Just keep your bird around people as much as you can. And just so you know I have this many birds cause I used to own a bird store so I ended up with a lot of them that I adopted from people.

I have 4 cats from a broken marriage. Ex only took 1 of 6 (one was put down due to an illness).
[ol][*]Snickers - Maine Coone - Supposed to be very nice friendly cats...mine has a temper[*]Skittles - White stray - (anyone want a white cat?) Scared of people. Wouldn't bite or swat, but will scratch the heck out of you trying to get away. She doesn't very much like being petted. Primarily because I used to have to give her Epilepsy meds. She, strangely no longer has the problem.[*]Spree - Always looks for affection. I think she has asthma or something.[*]Hitch - Named so because I found him under the hood of my car after hearing him when I was driving 50 mph.[/ol]I want to have a dog, but but since I really don't have the time to put in for training or being at home, I don't think that is fair for the dog.

 

Damn you do got a zoo going on there. I have no pets and want to keep it that way. The last dogI had lived to be 16.5 and died in my mom's arms. That dog was like a sister to me and since then I have not wanted any more pets and she's been dead almost 4 years now. She was a black mini poodel the was over weight and was cute as hell and acted like a person.

 

No pets atm. Most of my life i've had a dog of some sort, sometimes more then one at a time. My last dog was a beagle that died from old age. I've prob had 6 dogs in my lifetime so far im 25. I must say though, the last 6 months or so that i haven't had any pets have been nice.

I had a Husky puppy commit suicide. I went to work and came home, he was hanging from his rope after jumping THROUGH a door.

I had a german shepard that was full grown when i got him, don't know how old, i kept him for close to 6 years before he died of age. His name was King, prob my favorite pet ever.

My girlfriend has a cat, and even though she lives with me, the cat... it stays with her mom. LOL. I hate cats. It's an all black skinny toothpick cat that does nothing but sleep on people.

I live with a wolf: "Carabiener", she's seven. She is my mountain climbing partner and I am her human. She growls at drunks and crazies. Got her at a flea market in Napa, CA. A skunk lives under my cabin, and the two of them get along well.
