OK, I want to apoligize, this is not the dumbest idea on the planet.

Here is how I look at it, if gas is $2.30 a gallon and I drive the my Accord it cost about $.09 per mile in fuel. If gas is $3.99 my F4i cost about $.09 per mile in fuel costs. As fuel prices go up, I adapt to my 'price-point' for fuel costs. Maybe the dumbest idea on the planet isn't boycotting Exxon. Maybe the dumbest idea on the planet are to drive vehicles that don't get 40 to 50 mpg. My next car is a Honda Fit or an Insight. Even motorcycles are geared towards performance rather than economy, maybe in ten years we'll all be riding 200cc diesel Honda 'sportbikes' getting 145 mpg.

Blame the consumer, not the greedy Arabs and oil companies. If Gas still cost $.30 a gallon, everyone would be driving a LS-5 454 Corvette (instead of having it in storage) that gets 6-8 mpg and the 40 years of oil we have in reserve will be gone in about 12 years.
