How Fast
3 mph.... ................backwards.
I rolled back out of the driveway and Mr. Speedo works... Calibrated I'm sure it was about 1 or so...
104 in a left hand deep sweeper on the new Rep... 135ish on my former 900RR, but lost the front end due to my own baaad judgement of tire wear. Started to low side upon loosing grip, but caught the front end and brought it upright - too late and into the dirt... Frt Tire was peeling away from the center about 3 inches, basically slick. Thought I had another run left = thought wrong... Bit it hard seeing nothing but earth, sky, earth, sky, earth, sky, earth, sky, progressively slower and slower. Bike went into the woods, cracking the front light and breaking the shift lever leaving her stuck in 3rd... Rode her home with minor road rash and back aches, but fortunately a very bruised ego - these rides are bullet proof to some extent, we are not. Obviously make better judgement calls since then (1996).
Make better judgement calls on equipment b4 ya ride. Pre-flight is a must!

With my Cbr600F1 - 125-135. I would like to to faster but the roads in Vermont say otherwise, plus the words "hello officer" keeps creaping into the back of my mind.
With my wifes Ninja 250 - 95-100mph. That little sucker can go, and the twisties in the 250 are fun

You'll have to press the button (speedo healer) on my tank cover to find out
I'm scared to look down [
]
Hope a cop isn't smart enough to know what that button does... he'd have to prove when I did the top speed... but he'd know how fast I like to go.

Damn... forgot about you... Be honest, what's you top speed? And we're not counting the ones where you have red and blue flashing.

Never more than 20 over, give or take a mph or two. I'm more into quick acceleration. Highest I remember looking down at is 85mph and that was to get away from a Mitsu 3000GT Turbo that was crowding me. I'd like to hit triple digits but am willing to wait for a track day and when I'm more used to the bike.
I've hit 165 indicated on the speedo. All I thought about was: a) a crow was going to fly in front of me, b) a jackrabbit was going to run out in front of me, or c) a cop was going to come over the horizon. After about 140 you really don't look down much and your attention is far, far down the road in front of you.
I got 155 on my F3 on a open but cracked up back road no gear on but a helmet and also 3rd time on my bike i know i'm not the smart one in the family. Other then that i'm just try to keep it under a 100. But it's so hard.
