Default How do you wash your textile jacket?

Yeah, the tag says machine wash cold, but I was wonder specifics. It's expensive and I don't wanna mess it up.

Lemme know your experiences!

Pull out armor, throw in washer for gentle cycle, line dry.

i wash mine in the machine on delicates and line/ garage dry mine.

I wash mine every Fall before putting it away. In the bathtub with cold water, and small amounts of laundry detergent. Rinse a couple of times, and let it hang dry outside. Then I febreeze it, let that dry and put it up. If I do a bunch of city riding and get elements on it, I'll do it midway through the summer too.

Oh, I also put scotchguard on it in the spring. It helps protect the fabric.

If I washed it it would remove the layer of hardened insect exoskeletons that add a layer of reinforcement to the outer shell of the jacket...

You bet dude. My jacket is red and white too, white being the primary color. I scotchguarded it the first day I picked it up. I noticed how nasty it was after my first riding season, and thought "man, I may as well junk this one". Well, after some good scrubbing, it came clean and didn't stink anymore.
