Idk, my list of (reasonable) choices is as follows:

Honda (great reliability, overall balance, etc.)
Yamaha (K, so I dont ride track, but I'd like to feel like it)
Kawi (the weight and bulk of the zx's is no go for me, hence why below yama)
Daytona (heard great things bout them)
(never) gixxer (maybe) busa (prolly not though)

if the bike is in that good of shape i would take the deal and then flip it . the r1's are nice bikes ive put plenty of seat time on my brothers 02 r1 after i got rid of my last 929.
i say go for it..

Buyer beware. I would invest in an inspection from a mechanic you trust. The exhaust is all blued...likelybeen running really rich. And what else?
edit: maybe check it over closely to see if stuff has been safety wired(ex track bike).

Ok, for the record, I forgot to clarify this
-I saw the bike on craigs list for 3k
-shot an email with possible trade no more than an hour ago
-hence no I haven't seen it running or w/e, if they accepted, I would do that stuff before even thinking about letting them near my bike, don't worry, I've been through the bike buying experience, I'm not a noob like that

Here's the actual add for those who want to self inspect: http://raleigh.craigslist.org/mcy/877513318.html

As far as I can tell, it seems pretty legit. I went through a LOT of scam adds while looking for a bike and can spot those from a mile away now, even the good ones. DOESNT mean theyre not keeping info back about possible problems, but that (again) can be determined if a deal develops

We'll see how it goes, honestly they probably wont like the idea so there's probably no point to it, but you never know
Either way, when I actually have money (and not just trying to trade my bike off for a newer/more powerful one, lol) I WILL own a 1kRR
