I've been a bit lazy lately. Still waiting for my bro to get me the stainless tube as well. I rolled some stainless mesh into a tube and lock wired it together. Should work ok I think. I put it together with some muffler packing and held it onto the header pipe to have a listen. It sounded pretty good considering that it's the only reason I'm doing this.

The mesh may not "flow" as good as perforated tube but I'm giving it a try anyway.

Just an update for anyone who's waiting to see me finally finish what I started. My bro dropped these stainless steel aircraft (Airbus A330) fuel pipes that were destined for the scrap bin at his work. Brand new but not needed due to a mod they are doing to the aircraft. Next pics should be the finished product that has so far cost me nothing.

At 48mm ID, they're definately not feeding fuel to anything small.

Any guess at how many thousands of dollars I'm gonna cut up into smaller pieces. Bit of a waste really but at least it aint costing me a cent so I'm happy.

It's a shame I didn't have a bike back when my mate worked in the pipe section upstairs from me a few years ago. I could have had him make me a full titanium system on the stupidly expensive fully programable pipe bender. The dude in the machine shop could have machined up the flanges for me and another mate who is a qualified aircraft welder could have tig welded it all up for me. Oh well.

Just a couple more pics just working out how it all fits together. Couldn't have asked for a better angle from the fuel pipe my bro gave me. It's perfect. Think I'll go with an oval exit pipe like _Z_ suggested.

Yeah, definately changes the look. Might try putting some stainless pipe in the press at work and see if it comes out neat enough to use.
Otherwise I'll have to bite the bullet and actually spend some cash on the thing and buy some.

Here's (finally) a pic of it all drilled off and pinned in place with some cleco skin pins. Anyone out there in the aviation industry knows what I'm saying. Anyway, I still need to do a pipe tip to angle it down and then tig weld it all before I pop rivet it all together. The dude in charge of the machine and welding shop at work said I can use the tig any time I want. Sweet, many more projects to come me thinks. Sorry about the quality of the pic but you get the idea.
