holy s**T that has got to be some insane pain.... victims say it hurts so bad to get stung by one that they often want the limb amputated!!!
"I got spiked on the finger by a stonefish in Australia … never mind a bee sting. … Imagine having each knuckle, then the wrist, elbow and shoulder being hit in turn with a sledgehammer over the course of about an hour. Then about an hour later imagine taking a real kicking to both kidneys for about 45 minutes so that you couldn't stand or straighten up. I was late 20s, pretty fit physically and this was the tiniest of nicks. Got sensation back in my finger after a few days but had recurrent kidney pains periodically for several years afterwards."
and i copied two comments from people who read it ....
"My dad was stung by a stonefish. As they rushed him to the hospital he watched every single finger on his hand turn black from the poison. He nearly died, but after a couple of days, recovered fully."
"I stepped on a very small stonefish in Indonesia and it felt like my leg was being held in a flamethrower for the next hour. At first, I was terrified that they would take me to a hospital and cut my leg off, but after a while I was terrified that they wouldn't. It only lasted an hour and I never want to do that again. My poor brain couldn't figure out how a tiny wound that you couldn't even see could hurt so bloody much..."

I've seen bunches of stonefish in the carribean, but I'm sure I've missed hundreds. Lobster diving in Florida kinda trains your eyes to see stuff when you are diving, but those stonefish are still hard to see.
the first time i was in the ocean i was 12. i stepped on something squshy. i looked down and though i saw a jelly fish. i gues i stepped on its body where it has no stingers. i am never going in the ocean again.
also ever hear of the blue octopus. its like the size of your hand i think and kills you in minutes. i think i herd somewhere they can kill a whale. more people die from them then sharks.
