Default history of your riding life

just wondering what bikes people have had over the years. what bikes you liked, and which ones you didn't. total curiousity thing.

well, here it goes. i always rode dirtbikes so my first street bike was a dual sport 1992 suzuki dr350. i had this from 1997-2004 (when i purchased my drz400s). my first sportbike was bought in the summer of 1998. it was a 1989 kawasaki zx7. it was a total piece of crap and i sold it a month later (for $500 more than i paid for it!). i then bought a 1997 suzuki gsxr600. i really liked this bike but i totally trashed it. sold it for close to salvage price in the spring of 2001. then i bought my first (and only) brand new bike. a 2001 yamaha yzf-r1 champion edition. i absolutely loved this bike. but so did someone else. it got stolen in september of 2001. i then bought my first honda. a 2000 cbr929rr. red, white, and black. this was the best bike that i have ever owned. i bought it with 800 miles on it. i rode it until i wrecked it in november of 2003. i had to eat the loss because of no collision insurance. i kept it and planned on fixing it up. so the spring of 2004 i bought a 2003 holdover suzuki drz400s and sold my dr350 to my friend (who still rides it almost everyday.) then i came across a 2001 cbr929rr erion edition with 4000 miles on it in may of 2004. i bought it and the 2000 just sat in the garage. until i wrecked it badly in august of 2004. i bought it back from the insurance company. frame was bent and cracked but the swingarm and rear wheel were saved. and that's what i needed for the 2000 929. i then parted out the rest of the erion on ebay. so frankenbike was put together but i was still in the market for a different bike because the 2000 had 39,000 hard miles on it. i found another 2000 cbr929rr (yellow and black. bike i have now) in february of 2005 with 7,000 miles on it for $4500. i couldn't pass it up. i then sold the wrecked/rebuilt 2000 to my friend for a stunt bike.

so there is my bike history. what's everyone else's story.

Mines really short but I'll play. When I was 10 or 11 (I'm 21 now) my dad got a hold of an old honda dirt bike (kind of like a moped with dirt tires LOL) and we rode the hell out of it until the motor finally let loose but I loved that thing. Then at the end of last summer I bought a 95 ZX7 form a guy that I work with and rode that until winter. I hate that bike, the tranny slips 2nd gear back to neutral and it just feels like a tank. So this winter I looked around for a while and found 3 bikes but 2 of them sold before I even got to look at them and then I found my 02 F4i here in the classifieds and we went to St Louis to pick it up. I have only put about 35 miles on it, but I love this bike! I will always be riding now even though I haven't been into the sport that long. Like I said its short, but I have got to start somewhere right?

Mines even shorter... Back in august of 05 I begin to have an intrest in sport bikes my cusion had just got his 1st a suzuki sv650. Well it looked like so much fun so I wanted to get myself into the sport. Well in november of 05 I had the finances to do it. So i bought my 1st bike a 2001 f4i. I haven't gotten to ride it becuase I have no experince with bikes other than peddle bikes [:@] I am taking MSF in the end of march so I can finally take my bike out for a ride.

I bet that I have the shortest---- I'v only been riding my dad's KTM 300 EXC for a couple of month, and about 4 months ago he sold it and got a 400. Ive anly been on that a couple times. In Aug, I bought 98 F3 and have rode that for a couple of hours, but that bike is so comfortable and I will sign up for the MSF classes in Feb here in Ohio. I cant wait untill this summer to put some serious miles on this bike!!!

Well... heres mine... lol.. I rode my cousins suzuki JR 80 to pieces from about 11 to 13. I then rode a 125 honda untill I was 16. I have always looked at sportbikes with awe. I decide I HAD to have one. I went to the local honda/suzuki dealer in January of 05 thinking about gixxers. Thats when I saw her, my preeeccious. lol. 03 CBR 600 RR. a little over 5,000 miles on it, in pretty good shape with some custom bits here and there. Decided I had to have it and took it to bed with me that night. In a way it was sort of an early b-day present to myself (the 20th of jan.).

i started with a 92 yamaha sec 2 then went with a 03 suzuki gsxr600. bought a kawi z1000 on the side (%^$), then went with a 04 cbr1000rr. most current bike but sold recently is a 05 gsxr1000. looking to get back into the game with an italian (older mv maybe) but with all the crap i have lying around, the cbr1000rr looks likt the best option. I started out riding a quad a 2003 Honda 300EX. Rode that until I was able to get a bike. Rode a 90 Honda dirt bike once. Never been on a street bike before my friend let me ride his around the block. Not even over 25mph. Then i feel in love with them. So I went and got mine. Some how I talked my mom in to letting me ride it home when i bought it. It had .1 of a mile on it. I was never so scared in my life. And my friend that i was ridding with took me straigh on the freeway! I wasn't that comfortable so even semis were passing. Only bike I have owned. And she is still in one piece (knock on wood).
