Exclamation Help me identify this helmet!

Hey guys, im looking at possibly picking up this helmet for $50. I know its shoei, but i would like to know what model/make it is? im pretty sure its not the RF-1000, but i dont have a lot of knowledge on helmets, and wanted to look up some reviews for this particular one to see if it was a steal or one of their bottom of the lines or something. I contacted the seller and he says he doesnt know (which may be why hes selling it for so cheap?)

^^^ theres a pic of it. If you could help me identify it that'd be awesome, thanks!

Raphius, not to tell you what to do but if you're considering buying it, I'd recommend against it. It looks like an older style but can't be sure which one exactly. Regardless of what this seller tells you, you have no way of knowing how old it is, how much its been used, what its been thru, how its been stored, etc. Those factors can reduce protection & durability. You don't want that uncertainty on your head...literally!

Take that $50 & apply it to a new helmet...the best you can afford. Go to some shops & try on dif brands & styles. Then, choose wisely.

Good luck.

Couldn't agree more. I understand being on a tight budget but your heads safety is not a place you want to cheap out. Go with a new helmet.

Agreed!

You do not want to take a chance with a helmet that may not fit snug to your head...

alright, thanks guys. they're all just soooo expensive! lol. but yeah, i have to agree with ya, it's the biggest factor in an accident in saving your life.

how should a helmet fit anyhow? should there be "pain" or just snug enough so that your head doesnt wobble around in it?

Make 100%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Sure a helmet is DOT AND **SNELL** approved before you purchase it... DOT will pretty much approve anything that sits on your head

and a helmet should be very snug but not tight enough to where it hurts you at all lol... it should NOT wobble...

ive been very happy with my bell apex they run around 200... to be honest I PERSONALLY wouldnt go any cheaper than a $200 dollar helmet... <---- unless its like a expensive helmet but marked down...

You can get them pretty cheap actually. Last years models on clearance, etc... here is a site for you to look at.

I wouldn't buy online though. You want to be able to try it on first.

I went to the shop and tried on a few to see what I liked and what fit me the best. Found it then went online and bought it for way cheaper than the shop.
