Default Help with Helmet Cam!

I am looking at the Drift HD Camera. Does anybody know anything about it. How does it compare to the GoPro?

http://driftinnovation.com/camera/drift-hd/

Its HD. Is all HD the same? What about stability on my helmet? Does anybody know?

All HD is NOT the same.

Generally people talk about anything over 720p to be HD.

Now lets compare the GoPro and Drift, I own the GoPro Hero 2 and I love it.

It takes higher quality stills (11MP vs. 9MP), can do super slo-mo (120FPS max vs Drift at 60FPS max). Better night quality on the GoPro then the Drift even with it's night setting. GoPro is just all around, better, I could go on for an hour with it's pros.

I suggest the GoPro, it's the better camera IMO.

Honestly. GoPro is the original popular one, and from what footage i've seen and which camera's i've tested. GoPro is the better camera hands down. Hence I purchased one

I haven't mounted it on my bike yet but I use it for snowboarding alot.

I have a Drft HD170 Stealth (the one before the Drift HD) and I love it.. It's bigger than the HD but there haven't been any issues with video or audio... Yes the Hero2 seems to be the way to go but I'll stck with my Drift.. Ease of use means juste as much as quality of vids.. The Drift can be figured out without a manual. The GoPro seems to have a steeper learning curve.. and all of the "backpacks" that I'd want to buy like the LCD and Wifi...

You cant go wrong either way...

Well, the ease of use argument is sort of silly now. The newest GoPro is a lot easier with it's LCD screen that spells things out, it's very easy to use now.

I never saw the point to the LCD bacpac since I mount my camera places I can't see the camera from anyways! However the wifi bacpac would be handy.

I have only used the GoPro hero (1) not the 2, so i cant comment on the menu and its ease of use.. but something else the Drifts have that is nice is the rotatable lens to get any angle you want.. That is tougher to do with the GoPro and it's mounting setup. For "toughness" you can't beat the GoPro.. With its car design it can take just about a anything you can dish out.. And it's waterproof.. There is also the new contour camera... Nice that there are so many options out there.

You have a point with the lens rotation. However the GoPro can do 90, 127, or 170 degree FOV, I think the drift only does 170, which can be a bummer.

Don't get me started on Contour lol
