Help!!!
I am in a situation and need some advice. 3 years ago I was in the Navy and got a DUI in VA. Well since then I have moved to 2 different states and am out of the Navy. Well to make a long story short I went to re-new my license the other day (GA) and I couldn't becuase VA has me in the National Registry on HOLD. Well I call VA DMV and they say I completed everything but I need to pay a re-instatement fee and fax proof of insurance and maintain that for another year??? I don't understand why they need that for another year since it has been 3 years since the DUI. Anyway I pay the money and fax the insurance. Well GA doesn't know about my DUI (not on MVR) and I have a good deal on insurance but VA DMV mails me a letter saying that I am ineleigible to drive until I submit a Form SR22 from my insurance company. If I do that then I am afraid my insurance company will find out about my DUI and either drop me or my rates will go skyrocketing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

RE: Help!!!
Your caught between a ROCK and a HARD place my freind [>:] you can't hide the DUI from your ins co, is this the same ins co from the beginning ??? when you got your DUI ???? or a diff co ??? normally the ins co's run lic checks every year and they find out eventually, + the new co should have ran a check on your driving history. I think your gona have to pay the piper on this one, this day and age you can't hide **** from "BIG BROTHER" [:@]

RE: Help!!!
UPDATE!!!! Apparently after paying the re-instatement fee VA DMV just issued the letter. Like I said later that day I faxed my proof on INS not a SR22. Well I thought I would go try and re-new my license and see if the hold had been removed and...it had! I got my license. Thanks.
