RE: helmet issues
You get used to them, my biggest hate is the way a new helmet squashes your face cheeks so much that they nearly cover your eyes anyway (no, I'm not a fat bastard either). Every bike I've ever had, has always had mirrors that allowed you to see your elbows quite clearly & coming from a era that only required dealers to place one mirror on the bikes for rego (& no mandatory helmet laws then either & full face helmets did not exist fer bike riders), I got used to looking either side of me before I make any moves to overtake or change lanes to the point now I don't even think about it.

RE: helmet issues
I am very much used to it, so much when people bring up the visibility issues with full face i am confused. I have MORE visibility with my full face then say, sun glasses, that is because i don't have to squint because of the wind. I can't see shi+ with sunglasses because my hurt so much from all the wind in them.
My shoei has pretty good visibility. (about 180 degrees or more) i can't see the sides of it unless i turn my eyes. Mabey try a different helmet.
