Am I weird to think that if you don't know what a mod will do to your bike, you shouldn't do it?
Just was clocked the other day doing 173 on the telefonica and only in 5th and one gear left! Getting the telefonica re-geared one down two up! Gonna be kick *** and ready for racing soon!

yup it is gonna be geared for racing here ... or that is what they tell me at least! It sounded kinda strange to me but then I asked some other fellow riders and they said absolutly get that gearing and it has the fasted response time and will make you boogie even faster off the line and less shifting altogether for it is hard on your bike when you have to keep shifting and it causes you to change oil faster too!

I didn't want to perpetuate stereotypes, which is why I cut out the poster's handle. But here's a hint: the first word starts with "G", ends in "r" and has "xx" in the middle.
The oil statement got me too. Cause I thought that gearing will wear the chain faster. Oil is cheaper than chains last time I checked

I'm surprised no one mention to them once it went to 6th gear it would have only gain 13mph if that lol.

...that term came from here on the west coast...stunners from the bay used it to call posers who pop wheelies n say theyre stunners or im sure wut we all call rookies...but my friend who rides hills says they call squids people who do ride in shorts n flip flops n stuff...its different all around but personally i hate riding all geared up gimmie my shorts n tank top n shoes n im good sooo just cuz i like being comfortable doesnt make me a squid...Its different for MC's tho too and people who wear the vests...id rather rock my vest than gear ANYDAY!!!

To be fair, I would say a good majority of people get mods done without realizing exactly what the mods do. You think most people even know what an EFI map looks like? There are people who go with bigger turbo's (on cars) who have no idea how to read a AF/compression map and wonder why they get flutter and part-throttle. There are a lot of people who get air-work done (I/H/E) and don't realize what they're doing to the AFRs... they just hear on random forums that top end is gained and low end grunt is lost. That's why there are people who run shops that stay in business by making money off of people who just want to go faster. Besides, there are a million mods out there that people do that are pretty much marketing gimmicks, who's to know what these mods actually do?
