HEADHUNTER
I guess were on the same page on that issue. I am just not used to sitting by and letting the little lady carry the whole load God knows she's had to be self-sufficient with my layups, deployments and TDY sh*t and this is a decent chance for me to use some of my training to my personal advantage for onceand insome ways I see that as selfish but I wasn't given much of a choice
Wow HC. I just got done reading every post within this thread. Except for the righteous spewing of an absent minded lack of intelligence (meaning that jerk off other poster), I must take my hat off for you and salute you.
Although I've only known you from the forum, I would follow you into just about anything. And to spare you and the forum from a dissertation, I will say only the following.
You are a man of character with much couth. When the thread for blindinOrange came through this leadership was merely carried through even a post such as that. That is not to say it was trivial, it was all to say how you take something meaningless and fully disect it. From the perspective I see things, it's not just your ability to lead, nor is it just your ability to logically depict a situation and carefully prepare a solution as an opportunity to anything many would simply throw their hands up at and call a problem.
Don't go lettin your head get to large, as I'm certain it won't. You are/have been presented with a choice. A choice which hasn't been decided purely on emotion, or logic, but a rational combination of all. This is something that the military does not always train a person on. This comes from values and an ethical system of checks and balances.
While I agree that you would not do unto others nor put them in harms way, you have decided upon things to look at the big picture and the pursuit of correctness without the bias of prejudice. I know this may sound liberal, but it couldn't be farther from it. This is true conservatism on your part, fed by the very fuels your mind expects from your abilities.
In summary, you have weighed the pros and cons and look at two things. 1) being short term risk (and personally I think a year of one's life is short term) and 2) long term benefit. It's kinda like an opportunity cost from your perspective. I know it sounds shameless to place a dollar figure on things, but in this cruel capitalist society nothing comes free and that work done requests...no... demands fruition and the pursuit of happiness takes collective comfort for both you as a man and you as a provider. This will help you reestablish a sense of accomplishment as you know what it will take to bring yourself back to the level you will need to be.
I have personally seen people with greater disabilities overcome equally (to them) as tough challenges that the mere fact of actually obtaining feasible goals will achieve.
My hat is off to you and even more so to Poet and lil HC for understanding what it is all about when I say, the more that others help to make a person happy with themselves, simply builds the trust in the sense that you will be there for them to offer the same. GO GIVE EM THE HC treatment.

hey HC, theres a company, i cant remember the name but its part of o'gara group. their private contractors that are instructors. they teach Marines.. The dynamic assault course i just went through was put on by them and every single instructer there was Force for some amount of time, most were snco's. from a junior Marines stand point there is nothing better then being trained by these guys. you know they have the experince but you dont have to be uptight around them the way you are if your PLt Sgt is instructing you. the company also does an urban sniper course thats a month long, im really not sure on what other course's they teach. but the guys are awesome and i mean what could be better than being able to teach and work with Marines with out having to deal w/ the BS. Just a though HC heres a link to the career part of their web site

Almost one week down HC!
Man...I wonder how it's going--all hush-hush and judo-chop...HC's gonna own that place. To put it into perspective, it goes like this (wait...loves to all my uniformed brethren and sisters...this is just how Marines talk amongst ourselves...
): Basic Marine: pretty extraordinary. Infantry Marine: deadly. Reconnaissance Marine/Navy SEAL: elite. Force Reconnaissance Marine: stratospheric elite. Force Reconnaissance Marine/Marine Corps Martial Arts Program Instructor: HARDCORP! And here he is, going through what must be like Boy Scouts again (wait...loves to all my Eagle Scout brethren). I bet he's already earned all the merit badges...

Kick ***, Tim

I just bought a "Harcorp" action figure. It hasMCMAP action when you push the button on the back, says any number of phrases when you pull the string like: "Oohrah, Semper Fi", "I will f_ck you up...punk", and "Give me your address, and we will discuss this in person". It comes with bench press accessories, an amphibious assualt vehicle, and night vision goggles that you can upload online to see first person action. Seriously, thoughts are with Tim and his family as they are seperated. Do us proud...
