Hayden fan becoming disapointed.
I'm a fan of Nicky Hayden and always will be. However, I am becoming increasinly disturbed by his lack of importance with racing. I understand he is switching to Ducati. But you would think he would make a better effort to race, at the very least just put some laps in. But he has sat out a second GP due to his foot. They said he was saving it for the Indy race, which he is favored to do well in.
I understand injury's happen and they need to heal. But I can't help but think if he was in better points standings, he would be out there racing. I'm not saying I wouldnt do the same and rest up..... but thats not usually his style. I'm begining to wonder if he is begining to just give up and coast a few more years and call it quits. I hope not... but thats my current impression.
I hope I'm wrong and hope he comes in next year swinging....

i think you're wrong
besides its better if he heals up now when it really doesnt matter then to go out and get hurt and be screwed up even worse later down the line.
its like with mma if someone has you in a submission hold and you know you cant get out and its really hurting you tap out , why sit there and fight it.. what is that going to prove besides you dont care about your future in the sport. now if there is still a chance of you winning then by all means give it all you have untill you black out or something breaks but in gp racing the same with mma you arent good to anyone if you cant perform.

I sincerely hope I am wrong. I am a true fan of Nicky and have been since before he was in MotoGP. I just think the old Nicky would have been out there. But, maybe its a team decision and its the best thing to do. Maybe its his whole season that has me a little upset. he gets great starts and just fades back quickly. I really want to see him up at the front again.
I hope you are right.

Personally, I would have a problem if I came to work and had to put up with them bending over backwards for my partner, who is a plug. Right now it seems to me that Repsol Honda is using Hayden as a test pilot for Pedrosa. Why didn't HRC just change both riders over to Bridgestone tyres instead of splitting them up. The bike is geared to the little a-hole and they don't give any of the good stuff over to Hayden until a few races later.
I am a hugh Hayden fan and hope that things come together for him in a couple of weeks. I will be there cheering him on. If he does go to Ducati next year, I hope he stomps everyone and gets the title back.

While I always root for Hayden, Edwards, and Hopkins as the only well known American riders in GP I know that they will never do very well in a race. Hayden's championship was a fluke and I think his career post championship is a testament to that (bike aside). I think the American riders will struggle like usual and maybe get one in the top 10 with no podium.
As for him sitting out, of course if he were doing better he'd be racing through the pain but there's no way he's going to make up any significant points difference. Live to fight another day is his motto for now.

Well if you do screw your foot up and don't give it a rest it won't heal right and could cause chronic problems. I know cause I tore something in my thumb and was too stupid to do something about it and it's still giving me problems.. really stupid of me considering my dad is a hand surgeon.[:'(]

He wont win again
he is the best rider in the 1000CC's but with the 800 CC change he just doesnt have what it takes in the lighter bikes with less power. he has said it himself over and over that he just wants more power out of his bike.

I dont blame him one bit. f*ck Honda after the way they have treated him for the last couple of seasons. I would do the same thing, he already has a ride for next year, so why go out and risk further injury and jeapordize his ride next year? and for what? he aint in the points, he aint getting anything back from Honda. so yeah, save it up, see what you can do back at Indy, and kick some *** next year
