Default HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

Bill Of Rights
THIS IS A VERY EMOTIONAL SUBJECT FOR ME AND IT SHOULD BE FOR ANYONE WHOSE ANCESTORS MIGRATED HERE BEFORE THE BIRTH OF THE 20TH CENTURY. YOU HAVE ALREADY PAID A HEAVY PRICE FOR THESE RIGHTS AND FREEDOM. ALSO FOR THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED THIS COUNTRY IN IT'S ARMED FORCES, ESPECIALLY YOU, BECAUSE YOU HAVE DONE MORE TO EXPORT THESE IDEAS AND BELIEFS TO FOREIGN LANDS. I ASK YOU TO KEEP VIGIL HIGH ON THE HOME FRONT. YOU HAVE MORE THAN EARNED THESE FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS. THERE ARE THOSE WHO UNWITTINGLY OR KNOWINGLY WILL EN FRINGE UPON THESE RIGHTS. ALL WILL HAVE BEEN FOR NOTHING IF THEY ARE LOST.

HERE IS A COPY OF THE BILL OF RIGHTS IT GOT THE BALL REALLY ROLLING. KNOW THE IDEA FOR WHICH WE HAVE TRULY BATTLE

Yes thank you to all the Men and Women who serve our country every day.. From the Police officers who protect our cities and the troops that are fighting now.
I also want to thank all those who have lost their lives in effort to protect my loved ones and myself.. this is a day that most will be setting off fireworks and BB-Qing with friends but lets not forget why we are able to do this....if not for the courage of a few long ago we would not have this land to call our own.

I found this and had to add it to my post as well

"On July 4, 1776, we claimed our independence from Britain and Democracy was born. Every day thousands leave their homeland to come to the "land of the free and the home of the brave" so they can begin their American Dream.

The United States is truly a diverse nation made up of dynamic people. Each year on July 4, Americans celebrate that freedom and independence with barbecues, picnics, and family gatherings. Through the Internet we are learning about and communicating with people of different nations, with different languages and different races throughout the world. Bringing the world closer with understanding and knowledge can only benefit all nations.

We invite all nations to celebrate with Americans online this Fourth of July.

Happy Birthday, America"

Happy Birthday, America!

She's had some growing pains, for sure. She's not perfect, absolutely. But she's the best in the world. [sm=americanasmiley.gif]

God Bless America, land of the free!

Happy birthday to America. Where would we be without her.

If there is ever a thing that can make a grown man shed a tear, it is knowing that men have left thier families, left their children, and fought for what they believe in. They have given thier lives, to fight for our freedom, our land, and our way of life. hell, I cant even make it through the national anthem without watering up.

I cannot express my gratitude to the men, and women, of armed forces of those past, present, and future. Thank you all, for all keeping America alive and allowing us celebrate our freedom.

Just Wanted Add ThisDid you know on July 2nd. Something called the final draft was submitted for ratification to the Continental Congress on July the second, but not all would agree or sign, so it took another two days for what was the final draft to be prepared, which left out many issues, one of them was slavery. It would take almost another hundred years for America to come to grips with this issue and a war within, but that draft on the 4th of July was most definitely signed. By the Continental Congress How much different this country may have been if the document prepared on the second had been signed, but this is not the day for dwelling over what might have been but yet a day to celebrate. It would take until August for it to be completed and ratified. The 4th of July has been accepted as the official anniversary of United States independence. The first Independence Day celebration took place the following year - July 4, 1777. By the early 1800s the traditions of parades, picnics, and fireworks were established after the Declaration of Independence was brought into being. It took almost two decade for this country to settle in to a REPUBLIC There was a near uprising within the Continental Army that Washington had to deal with and handled it gracefully. The man also surrendered his sword and gave his resignation as head of the Continental Army, walking away from power not into it. This is a act of true patriotism and speaks volumes of this man's character. There are those who bash him and be little him and make him out to be a tyrant but he was truly this country's first and foremost leader and without his grand tactical genius, valiant efforts and his grand intuition this country may have been very different. We should all take a moment and reflect upon the character and quality of all those who step forward and signed the Declaration of Independence and remember the great personal risk that they took in this country's fledgling beginnings and teach our children that this day is not just a day for picnics and fireworks and flag flying extravagant parades, but what this day is, to celebrate these actions by these grand gentleman. And remember that at the time of the signing, the US consisted of 13 colonies under the rule of England's King George III. And let us not forget that only 9 colonies actually voted YES, 1 of them up sustained and 2 voted NO, so we actually owe the birth of this country to those 9 colonies bravery and the bravery and commitment of those who stepped up at TUN Tavern to enlist in The Marine Corps. For those who stepped forward and volunteered to serve in the Continental Army, those Mountain Men who stepped forward and volunteered to become a part of the militia to fight King George's army. If it had not been for these men's bravery and strong-willed determination and belief in those who signed the Declaration of Independence we would not be today arguing over the issues of immigration or voter registration. If it had not been for the brave actions and heroic efforts of men of all ages young and old, who chose to standing in Harms Way and waging war with the largest armada to come to the shores of this land and battling insurgency from within we would not be a republic . If it had not been for the United States bold and valiant effort other colonies would not have had the inner strength to stand up and declare their own independence. So for those first Marines, Soldiers, Militiamen, and members of the Continental Congress, I salute you. I honor you and give great thanks for your courage and insight. For those of you who have never set down and read the Federalist papers, I suggest you take time at some point in your life to do this. Happy Independence Day. [b]I Also Salute Those Who Serve Here at home Police officers and Firefight and our ARMED FORCES around the World who are Defend the Una

[sm=shootshoot.gif]Untrue statement. We were born as a Republic. One of our Founding Fathers ( Benjamin Franklin ) once said "that a democracy was two wolves discussing with a sheep, what to have for dinner". That is one of the main reasons we were born a Republic, but good luck finding a modern textbook on the history of this country that explains whata Republic is or find anything that refers to this country as a Republic, other than the currency you carry in your pocket.[sm=chairshot.gif]
