Default Handlebar locks

So I was wondering, how easy would it be for someone to break my handlebar locks? I always lock them, but still get an uneasy feeling just leaving my baby whenever I park it somewhere, especially down by the beach. I also have a bike chain that I lock my riding jacket to the handle bars as well but that wont keep it from rolling onto someones truck :/ Wheel locks a good investment for my worry? Alarm maybe?

Its all about deterrents. The more you have, the less likely a thief will take the time to overcome them or be inconvenienced by them. They'd usually rather move on to the bike that has nothing in the way of deterrents. If they really want it tho, they'll take it.

all it takes is a good kick to the handle bar and the lock will either slip or break

Would making good use of the bicycle chain work? Putting it around the tires?
