You have to be careful not to shoot people who are breaking into your house to steal, kill, or rape. If you hurt them, they can sue you, and if you kill them first, their family can sue you. They are just misunderstood, that's all.[sm=badbadbad.gif]

i really want to get a handgun as well, now that i can legally buy one. I always wanted like a Glock .40 or .45. My dad is a big gun fanatic and was trying to sign me up for the NRA when i was 14. So I have always had a love for sqeezing a few off. who doesnt?

Chyl, you just have to make sure they're dead, that all. Two in the head, you know they're dead. Their fam can sue if they want, but most of the time they don't win unless the intruder/accused lives...... or you shot him in the back.

Def. do not shoot in the back, you will be jailed. Nice to see everyones gun approval. My friends dad was murdered in bed by a 30-06, I often wonder what the outcome wouldve been if he had some sort of protection, very sad. Cant stand it when people say :"you dont need a gun in the house!!". I pray for those people.

I think that some of these folks are the ones that say owning guns promotes their use thereby promoting violence. My dad's pro weapon attitude, and willing education of me ultimately promoted safety...I respect weapons enough to know you don't screw around with them. These tragic stories of kids accidently discharging them into their frinds head are the same kids who never got intruduced to their daddy's weapons. When I got my .45 auto, the first thing the family did was have a safety lesson. Never point the gun at anyone (unloaded or otherwise), always check to make sure it is unloaded, don't put your finger on the trigger unless you plan to fire, etc.
