I've had people explain this mentality, but I still don't get it. I've heard plenty of times that GSXR's make one of the best track bikes, they've been ahead of the curve when it comes to power delivery, they've been right up there with the so-called "legendary bikes", etc.
Is it just bias against the most popular bike brand? I'm not sure if they actually are, but AFAIK, there are so many gsxr "squids" just because there are that many gsxrs sold compared to other bikes.
Also, speaking of squids, Ghostrider seems to have done pretty well on his suzukis.
