Default Gsxr 600

Alrighty, let me start off by saying I can't stand about 70% of Suzuki riders. That being said I got an offer to trade my f4i for a gsxr 600 and I'm thinking of taking it.

My F4i is the custom that'[s up for ROTM. It's a 2005 with the tail conversion to an 03 tail with quite a few mods to it.

The GSXR is a 2007 with 3k miles in mint condition with a yosh pipe. the blue and white color

We haven't talked about details or even seen each others bikes in person but I really think I'm going to trade him if he want's to go through with it. The reason I'm trading the F4i is I want to start doing some track days and I can't do that on my custom bike. That being said what do you guys think? On my local forum I'm kinda the Honda guy who bleeds red and I give ALL the Suzuki guys a whole bunch of crap all the time talking about how they always ride with flip flops and their helmet will really protect their bike while it's attached to the tail of it :P

It's all in fun and they know that *they all ride with gear* but I just KNOW i'll get all kinds of crap from them if I make this trade.

Lol I guess I just wanted to vent a bit it may not go through I've also had some interest from someone with an 04 RC51 and a 08 ZX-14 special ed.

anyway Just wanted to let my Honda friends know I may be jumping ship as far as a 600 goes.

Well I'm not sure how it is down under, but in Texas we have about 30 track days a year less then 30 miles from my house. That being said it's about 130 bucks per track day you get as much instruction from the instructors that you need *depending on if you sign up as novice* and then the track is open for you to race all day long as much as you want.

Now all you need to make your bike track ready for these novice events is to tape the headlights and mirrors off. That's it you don't need to safety wire the bike or take the plastics off ect. So other then the fact you may lay it over if you push it to the limit. There's no passing allowed in the turns in the group and no real mod's required to your bike so you could safely use the bike on track and on the street pretty easily.

That's what I thought you were going to do...

Sure if you are only doing " open days " we call them here ,for practice and training ...yer , your road ride would be fine...

Sorry about my confusion ..
No worries I'm fairly new to doing a track day or two but I think I'll do about 5-10 a year and if I decide I really wanna get into it I'll be getting a dedicated track bike and get my racing license to actually race for points ect on an amateur circuit.

and whats wrong with modding the cbr into a track bike?

either way, the bike you have will be a track bike. Might as well be a cbr

you've got alot of time and money into that f4i, i would hate to see it go for a su-sucki. my two cents is keep the f4i for running roads and having a good time with your buddies, cuz you'll never get back everything you put into it, and your probably gonna miss the hell out of it. then save up some money and pick up maybe a salvage bike or something for cheap that you can start to re-work and build into a nice track set up. and if you dont like it sell the track set up and only lose 1k or 2k. one more thing, it would be hard for me to give up that f4i for a track bike, when i personally didnt even know if i would get into track racing. but either way goodluck.

Do you ride your f4i much? If not then it seems like a done deal to trade it for something else (RC51 FTW). Why not track your 1000rr?
