My girlfriend & I just closed on our first home Wednesday. I've had a couple apartments myself before & we have been renting the top floor of my parents house for the last 3 years, then finally decided with the market the way it is we should try to buy, and finally after 6 months of searching, looking at 50-60 different places got one! Valued at over $200k we picked up this gem for $87k, andI love it.
So to all the homeowners out there I just joined the club of extreme debt!

 

Congrats, but the *girlfriend* part is scary (to me anyway. Why not get married if you're going to buy a house together? I've seen this go bad so many times in so many ways.

 

Yea, I'm actually planning on that, we've been together 4 years now. Just saving for the ring, I'm more scared of that than the house thing, but I'll bite the bullett soon [8D]
