Default got this in an email- new tx laws

Starting July 07..
1. Carpool lane - 1st time $1068.50 starting 7/1/07 (The $271 posted
on the highway is old). Don't do it again because 2nd time is going to be
double. 3rd time triple, and 4th time license suspended.

2. Incorrect lane change - $380. Don't cross the lane on solid lines or intersections.

3. Block intersection - $485

4. Driving on the shoulder - $450

5. Cell phone use in the construction zone. - Double fine as of 07/01/07.
Cell phone use must be "hands free" while driving.

6. Passengers over 18 not in their seatbelts - both passengers and drivers get tickets .

7. Speeders can only drive 3 miles above the limit.

8. DUI = JAIL (Stays on your driving record for 10 years!)

9. As of 07/01/07 cell phone use must be "hands free" while driving.
Ticket is $285. They will be looking for this like crazy - easy money for police department.

mainly for cars, but its about damn time for some of them

sounds like bs to me. What state tells you that you can drive 3mph over the speed limit. The speed limit is the fastest you can go.

In the city where I live they put up the red light cameras three weeks ago. The first month is just a test. They will not be handing out tickets till next week. But in just three weeks of testing they have photographed 1,652 people running red lights! And thats from four cameras. They said if they were handing out tickets it would of totaled $9,000 a day!!

Not entirely true.

The current law allows UP TO 10 mph over the speed limit if you are passing a slower moving vehicle. Like someone doing 20 in a 35...etc.

Hence why I got a ticket a few months back for being 11 over...(I was actually 7 over...)

I like the cell phone thing...though hands free doesn't help as much as people think overall. Helps some.

Driving on the shoulder...

On my drive to work...two lane road...speed limit 60 mph...no center turn lane...

So I guess when somone wants to slow to zero and take a left...blinker on...waiting for oncoming cars to pass...everyone is supposed to sit there and wait.

Bull****...I'll run it...pay the fine and move to Montana....hate this state anyway...always have.

What if you hold the cell phone between your shoulder and your ear? Its hands free.
