I had just seen this on yahoo and thought id ask everyone here. just wondering how many people think gays/lesbians should be allowed in the military i personally dont care one way or the other, i actually have a gay man in my company and also a bisexual man as well. It doesnt seem to hurt morale or interfere in mission completion in any way. I know of a few other gay/bisexual men where im an stationed at also. i know of some soldiers who dont like the fact that there around but most of the guys i know dont mind as long as there not flirting with them or anything like that.

I never had that problem, when I was in the service, but if I had, I'd have left them alone if they did the same for me. If not, mayhem, carnage and grievous bodily harm would've resulted.

Tried to vote but didnt work. I agree with the fact that as long as gay people reside under the Dont Ask/Dont tell policy it isnt an issue. When it becomes obvious that a person is homosexual IMO it would become an issue. I dont know how it is with the Army or Marines but I would think you guys being in close quarters much longer than the Air Force does would either make you more comfortable with the people around you or it could tear your unit apart? I dont know so I am not stating fact, but with the Air Force I feel that it shouldnt be talked about because that is along the same lines as inappropriate emails, or even close to fraternization. We are not supposed to do stuff like that and if caught you get in trouble so if a person is gay they should abide by the policy's set forth.

When I was in, there were a few people who acted fruity but you can never really tell. I have to admit, I'm not a big fan of gays...not for some religious reasons or anything, but just because the idea of it grosses me out. Still, I have no problem serving with them and I am fine with the policy of "don't ask, don't tell" as it stands.
