heheh well a little backgroud first on my job, I work at a topless bar in Texas and most of the time I'm at the door collecting cover and checking ID's, well I have a tip jar that sits next to my register and for some reason I was goofing off and stuck it square in the middle of the counter so it's screaming at anyone that comes in LOOK AT ME!! lol.. anyway, the last 5 people in a row have reached completly around it to grab their change then walked in ignoreing it as much as possible not making eye contact with me.

Rofl I find that so funny that people hide their eyes at the sight of a tip jar I can just hear them thinking "Oh man this guy wants me to tip him I better run it's a dollar!! I cant waste a dollar!" hehehe

sorry I just found it funny. Free steak day = all the cheap-o's in Texas come in.

I think tips are over-rated for basicly any job besides a waiter.

 

Why should you be tipped to check id's and take money, you're the person no one likes... No offense to you.

 

The psychology of tips is that "they" have to think it's their idea ... if you try to make it obvious it creates a negative feedback = no tip ;-)

I doubt the guy expects tips, that is probably more a joke than anything. I wouldnt leave a tip but I dont think he is serious.
