I was about to say, throwing shoes at someone in some Middle Eastern cultures is supposed to be extremely insulting, but they mentioned that at the end of the video

Maybe this guy should be punished with a public shoeing.

I like how this is barely even news. I found it buried in the videos on Comcast.net

If any other president would have gotten shoes thrown at him by a crazy journalist, it would have been all over the media.

But nobody gives a **** about Bush anymore.

Oh and that secret service sucks ***. They were probably playing poker in that back room and had to finish their hand before they went to help him.

I remember when Saddam's statue was taken down in Baghdad, and how the locals beat it with their shoes - a MAJOR insult in Iraq, probably elsewhere in the Arab world, too.

In regards to the secret service comment, I heard that he actually asked them to stand down and just let it be handled in a calmer manner. Love or hate, when he rebounds from the first shoe, it struck me as hilarious that he's still smiling.
