Well last night I was out riding and I pulled up to a stoplight. As I was sitting there a SUV pulled up next to me, and the very first thing I heard was " WOW, dad look a POWER RANGER!!!!". All I could do is laugh, but at the same time it felt like I had lost a smidgen of dignity. I'm just wondering whats the funniest thing you've had a kid yell to you while your out riding?

 

Does Torres have kids???

I don't know that I've ever had a kid say or do anything other than give the universal, "do a wheelie" sign. I do though, love to wave at the little ones when I ride by in a neighborhood or on the streets. They just sit there completely innocent and in awe, barely raising a hand to wave, "hi" as if they are unsure I see them through my tinted visor. When I look directly at them and raise my hand I can tell I made a kids day.

That's probably one of the most fulfilling moments as a bike rider. Kids make the world go 'round, man. I love 'em to pieces.

On the waving to kids thing, I've noticed the same. The past couple weekends I was out riding, I've seen kids outside playing who stop and look, I'll either initiate a wave or wave back to them and you do get a nice feeling like you just made their day.

 

I swear I saw this once...maybe I was hallucinating, though. Anyway, I was out on a ride once and saw a kid riding solo on a tandem bike...he gave me the wheelie sign. I just thought that was the wierdest thing I ever saw. Kids are great, though. I have to agree with the others.

the other day when i was leaving my subdivision, i was slowly passing this little kid on one of those motorized skateboard scooter thingies and he leaned over in the full tuck position like he wanted to race and gave me the forward point "let's go" gesture .. he didn't say anything but i thought the lil fella was funny.

 

Thats awsome Brandon, im sure i have nothing on that one.
