Default First RC51 - CL AD

Disclaimer - I don't know the bike personally, nor do I KNOW that it is the first RC51.

Thought I would post this since it could be a cool HONDA find for someone.

They look neat in a way, but they look heavy and clumsey - anyone ever ridden one??

once, purely race oriented, stiff *** suspension and tall gears for max mph. not comfy on the street at all, a little on the heavy side. I think my 954 could handle it anyday of the week all except the low end torque. but after that i got it.

just bought a sp-1 (2000 rc51) tonight. after owning a ton of cbrs and a busa i can say that this is going to be one of my favorite bikes if not #1 ive ever owned. the vtwin power plant is ready at the slightest twist of the throttle and it hooks into turns like its on rails. deffinetly not a long distance bike without some mods .. maybe a different seat and possibly raised bars. kinda awkward when sitting at a stop but once you start moving all its clumsey awkwards traits seem to vanish.

A question, Why don't have have a section for the RC51 RVT1000? I know it isn't CBR yet it holds such a significant value in the Honda sport bike history. Just curious.

I doubt that's the first RC51. Yes, the suffix is 001 but the prefix isn't for the first run, I don't believe.

HAVOC, welcome to the RC51 club! ;-) You'll love it. I've got a pic of mine on here somewhere.

*Sigh* That bike really does look mega sweet. If I was to choose a bike purely on looks, the RC51 would definitely be up there on my list.

I rode with one the other day that had some kinda straight titanium exhaust setup and the thing could be heard for miles and it pretty much drowned out every other exhaust note in the group. I had the pleasure of sitting behind it for part of the ride and I could feel my helmet vibrating. :P
