Default First little wheelie

Man this has been a great week. I went for a quick ride with a buddy today after work. We got on a straight away and i goosed it pretty good in first and i got it up in the air just a tiny bit. So i tried a few more times with it coming up just a little bit. As we were getting close to home i gave it one more good try and i got her up pretty high at least a few feet. My buddy couldnt believe i brought it up so nice and smooth and set her . down nice and gently. It was fricken sweetness.

dont get comfortable with the "nice and smooth" part.... did you cover the rear brake? When you first start wheeling, esp. in 1st gear, you dont always bring it up the same every time, so be careful, the 12 o'clock will cause extra laundry duty, and the ER isn't gonna get the brown stain out of your pants

on a sidenote, its an adrenaline rush eh?

Take learning slow and keep your foot over the rear brake and you can learn in a relatively safe manner. Congrats on the first one

it's a blast when you do your first power wheelie! I remember mine.... was going home from the store and gunned it... man front came up about 3 inch's but sure as heck felt like alot higher!!! Now that i've learned my clutch... I have yet to NOT pull my front up and I'm now working on holding them up.... which .. unless you bring it up really high is almost impossible without going WOT.

few tips as anyone will tell you.

1. cover your rear brake!!
2. power wheelies are fun at first but hurt your bike more than clutch wheelies
3. learn to clutch... it's scarier at first but much more predictable plus you can pretty much do them at a much slower speed and get more time to play.
