Default Finished my Ducati today!

Aaawwww, HELL YEAH! For those of you who don't know, I recently undertook a frame-up rebuild of my Ducati Monster 600...between the altercation with the deer and a blown transmission, she had seen better days. So a few months back I scored a low-mileage 900cc engine out of a 900ss, givng me more displacement, power, and one more gear (other pluses too, but I won't bore you with the gory details). Over the past 6 weeks I've been doing the swap, detailing every single nut and bolt, some go-fast goodies, you get the point. Here's what it looked like at the beginning of summer...yeah, it's a ****ty pic, but who cares, it doesn't look like this anymore anyway.

I looked at it yesterday, realized I was about 3-4 hours from having it finished, so I woke up this morning and got to it. Sprayed the clear over the tank to lock in the metalflake...pics just don't do it justice, this **** POPS in the sunlight...

Got it all mounted up, everything torqued to spec, fluids in, no leaks (yay!), jump box on the battery since mine had three dead cells and she fired right up. Sounds angry, REALLY, REALLY angry. It might be louder than God...my neighbor was in his basement 150ft away and came tear-assing out of his house 'cause he thought something bad was happening. It was something bad, just the good kind of bad.

All I need now is a fresh battery and a chain, so if you'll all excuse me, I think I have parts to go buy!

The pic makes the seat look way bulkier than it really is. I wanted the raised, "cafe" style tailsection, but the black pleats do look bulky in that pic, I'll agree. Next time I'm in the shop, I'll snap a pic from a better angle...

Heck of a project there. Are you going to be able to keep the front wheel on the ground?
