Finding my 1st motorcycle jacket (help please)

Even though the jackets are $500 to $600, they will save 10 times that in ER bills. I have a jacket that I went sliding across the asphalt with at 50 or so mph and didn't get a scratch. The jacket didn't pull up on me at all and it help up really really well all considering. The safety armor in Dainese feels so much conforming to your limbs than some of the others. It really makes some of the other brands safety armor feel like they put a few creases in card board and called it good. I also really like how fitted Dainese makes their jackets... I HIGHLY recommend Dainese jackets!!

this is the jacket i have but mine is white. its the Icon Merc Hero leather. i fishtailed and lowsided my bike back in october and was luckily wearing this jacket when i crashed and it protected me wonderfully. not a single bit of roadrash . jacket was still very useable only light damage... and it comes with a medal on the inside breast pocket of St. Christopher. the patron saint of travelers.

I have the same bike jpan.
My jacket is this Joe Rocket in Red/Black.

I'm around 6'3" 180lbs. I got the large size and it fits me well. Protected me from a bad dump last week going around 45mph came up with no nicks on my torso.
Price was the main reason I went with this jacket seeing as after buying the bike I had little cash left. Only complaint with my jacket is that the left pocket's zipper broke about a month ago and it never really worked that well when it was new.

C'mon, tell me thats not badass. About the same price too. Will be buying this jacket myself, either in red/black ir black/black (considering repainting next winter). You don't really want ALL red with a little black. You think you do, but you'd get sick of looking like a power ranger pretty quick most likely. Mostly black with some red is the better path, at least imho.

also be sure to check out craigslist for gear. i dont recommend buying a used helmet but jackets and gloves are fine to. i bought my Icon Merc Hero Leather from CL for $100. it was in brand new condition just too big for the original owner. so i saved myself some serious cash that i used to buy a new lid.
