Default Ebay worries me

Just perusing around ebay, I see these people selling parted out bikes, multiple parted out bikes, very poor english, and 0 feedback... I don't know if anybody else gets nervous and/or would like some proof that these parts aren't stolen, but I kinda get edgy with parts on ebay. Just wanted to vent, because it seems like ebay is the stolen bike chop shop sometimes... Wonder how we could fix that? Or do you think it's not really stolen, just crashed bikes. When I don't see any crashed parts in the guy's 30 auctions... I degress, just wondering if anyone else has thought this before.

i have but prob sometimes they are but that's life i guess.. but dont buy from anyone with 0 feedback or auctions that just dont seem right, there are alot of bike part suppliers on ebay with a great feedback.. like sumofparts or 58cycle.. look for a high feedback rating.. as far as ebay chop shop.. might be right but can't really do much but protect your own bike

if your worried about buying something because you don't know if its legit or not, don't buy it. there's 10000000s of scams on ebay all of them just trying to steal your hard earned cash. use craigslist and do it all locally! then you actually hand cash to a person when you take the keys.

It's called Ebay Instincts. You will leasrn them after searching alot. I have bought a $5,000+ purchase and sold a $9,000 item both to/from nice honest people. I like to ask alot of questions, if I get a wierd or no response then I skip on em.

I was on a while back and seen people bidding on a cereal box! bid was at like $17,000 and supposedly gonna go to 1 million. Ordinary everyday cereal box with something in it.(Money orders). Alot of wierd stuff out there.

I agree with most folks here. I would never buy from a person with 0 feedback. There are too many legitimate businesses you can give your money to. They may be a chop shop, a scam artist, or foreign and just plain hard to get descent service from.

all the earlier mentioned advice is solid. follow your gut feeling and use common sense.

ebay is the easiest way to sell stolen goods because they're going to likely be shipped across the nation where nobody will know it was stolen to begin with unless its something like an engine or a part with an identifying mark such as a VIN or unique paintjob. remember, LOTS of stuff on ebay could be stolen goods, from pens to cars.
