Default DVD for Christmas

What's a good DVD to get for someone to help them learn to ride?

Something that will show how to pick the right line, etc. Not just a racing video, but one that actually points stuff out.

A bud is going to take the MSF course in the spring, but I'd like to get him something to watch over the winter and kinda get him prepared.

sorry, didn't find too much in the way of beginner motorcycle dvd's. most seemed pretty cheap and not worth the price. i did find a book called "complete idiots guide to motorcycles." ive seen this series of idiots guide books before and they seem to be pretty good.

worth taking a look at.

id put the money toward helping pay for the course or get him a mag subscription. they usually have better articles on how to ride anyways.

I don't think you will find any books on how to do the MSF course. You really don't need it. Just tell him to play around in a parking lot making very tight slow, slow, slow turns. I mean get to the point where the bars are stopped and go as slow as you can. I'm not sure, so anyone here fell free to bash on this one, but from what I can remember of the course... Find an empty parking lot with good visible lines. Find a spot where you can use four spots. Now pretend the four spots/boxes are the "box" you will see in the course. You have to stay inside that box and complete ... couldn't think of a good way to describe it so look at the picture attached. No comments about the art work... I know it sucks, but you see what you have to do.

A good video for riding or books, are the Keith Code’s Twist of the Wrist. I have yet to pick one up, but since it is winter... might be a good idea. These were recommend to me by a member here that has a few track days at Mid-Ohio (Fretless33)
