Smoking is bad, yes, but lets not get carried away and blame it on that. Instead lets blame lung cancer, yellow teeth, and stinky clotheson smoking.

kinda sore this morning...man I torqued my wrist, hurts like hell. Bike just needs a front brake lever and a right side mirror to be up and running. Little scuffs here and there, all nickle and dime stuff I can get on E-Bay.

that sucks, thats why i usually dont ride much in the winter....the salt/sand/gravel they lay on the road is slick and way to easy for the backend to slid out from under you. Glad your ok though, search ebay for parts, fixed my bike for under $500

That's bull****!!! I hate to hear it. You do play over in your mind what you could have done differently. I had my upper fairing repaired when I had a spill, and it cost me $200. You might check out a body shop.

Can you plastic weld it? Get some epoxy/plastic stuff and fill out the crack, it wont be perfect, but it will be cheaper than replacing the whole fairing.

I remember I read somewhere that most accidents happen within a 25 mile radius of your home.
Me too, except I thought it was more like 1-5 miles.
I'm writing this slow because I know you can't read fast. We don't live
where we did when you left home. Your dad read in the newspaper that most
accidents happen within 20 miles of your home, so we moved. I won't be
able to send you the address because the last West Virginia family that
lived here took the house numbers when they moved so they wouldn't have to
change their address.

This place is really nice. It even has a washing machine. I'm not to sure
about it. I put a load of
clothes in and pulled the chain. We haven't seen them since.

The weather isn't bad here. It only rained twice last week; the first time
for three days and the
second time for four days.

About that coat you wanted me to send; your Uncle Billy Bob said it would
be too heavy to send in the
mail with the buttons on, so we cut them off and put them in the pockets.

Bubba locked his keys in the car yesterday We were really worried and hot
because it took him two hours to get me and your father out.

Your sister had a baby this morning, but I haven't found out what it is
yet so I don't know if you are
an aunt or uncle. The baby looks just like your brother.

Uncle Bobby Ray fell into a whiskey vat last week. Some men tried to pull
him out but he fought them
off and drowned.

We had him cremated, he burned for three days.

Three of your friends went off a bridge in a pickup truck. Butch was
driving. He rolled down the window
and swam to safety. Your other two friends were in the back. They drowned
because they couldn't get the tailgate down. There isn't much more news
at this time. Nothing much out of the normal has happened.

Your Favorite Aunt,
Mom

I feel your pain. I did something similar... it was raining... approached the gas station at wrong angle, went down hard. hair line fraction on shoulder and about $350 in damage. all within 5 mins of picking up my '05 from the dealer.

I'm wondering what the best rout would be to go. Nothing is destroyed on the plastics, just scuffed.....sand it down and use touch-up paint? How much would it run me to have the whole bike prepped and sprayed one color?? OEM plastics are super expensive, hate to replace them for such minor damage. Also.....how much of a crash can a bike take??? It starts fine and isn't making any weird noises or anything, but if theres trouble lurking, do you think one would notice it pretty quick? I lowsided on the right side at about 20-30 max.

I dropped my bike (only fell over) and it scuffed up my rear tail cowl on the side. I just sanded it down and covered it with black vinyl to match the factory design. I think it turned out great. Only cost me $5 for vinyl. Beats the hell out of replacing the whole thing. Don't know about the rest of your stuff. You should post pics so we can get an idea of how bad the damage is so we can give you ideas.
