Never owned one, but worked on quite a few for customers. Would suggest they pop the ecm out and sniff it ! Not kidding.... the ecms on em are really bad for frying. I had one ecm rebuilder tell me that 85% of his business came from mitsubishi ecm's. Thats the first thing we check when we get one in w/a crank/no start problem. Have seen probabaly 5-6 in the last year, and we don't get that many mesobitchy's in. Good luck !

I would check the starter relay, the fuses, and maybe even the starter. At last resort replace the ECM. Hope this helps.

i read that those eagle talon/mitsubishi eclipses/plymouth lasers were all terribly unreliable cars...i was going to buy one until i read it somewhere (cant remember where for the life of me), bought a 96 camaro z28 instead, and guess what? its a piece of crap too!

Hell, My Eclipse has 130,000 miles and still running strong (knock on wood). Havent has any major issues with it. But they are know for theie ECU [ECM] and also, check the fuses and relays with a volt meter. Then had me stumped one time for like a day, it was an easy $4 fix

Yea i use to have a 96 GSX ecplise.

same deal, everyday it was something new, get rid of it. If its the 4g63 motorlisten for crankwalk. Its the #1 killer for them. Basicly if you hit the clutch and head a clicking by the drivers side wheel its only a matter of time before you get hit with it and your newfound dsm becomes a 4000lb rock! Honestly your gonna keep having problems. Dump it before it swallows you. Mine put me 4k in the hole before i got rid of it.

In my experience the harder you drive your car/bike the more it will brake down that's why you see 1950 ElDorados being driven by grandpa still on the street and brand new imports broken at 3 weeks off the lot.
if you race it be ready to brake it
