BLASPHEMY
but...BLASPHEMY ?
Yup... your right ... thats one of the reasons its called "Harley Heaven" they are a religious experience that should be kept in Heaven mate I recon..
because...
Heaven help them...
Heaven is where they belong......after being chucked in a hole and buried
Heaven is where you wind up if you ride them real hard
Heaven knows how they stay upright ( the only Handling to do with them came on the box )
( "Handle this way up" )
Heaven knows how they them keep going ( and they do not, for any length of time without work )
Heaven knows how people afford the things? ( yer I know, most Harley rider are crooks :-)
Heaven knows the riders of them are stigmatized as evil villains
( if it looks like a pig smells like a pig makes a noise like a pig .. well then its probably a pig )
Heaven knows how the guys can hear anything after getting off them
( bloody stupid noise they make ) tuned pipes ?
Harley Tech's- "lets design an exhaust .. hmmm
no worries , we can just whack round header size pie straight out the back ..
jobs done .. more beer now!!!
anyway ... Heaven knows I have not got one..
and if God and Heaven have anything to do with them and are listening now... ??
then .... I THANK GOD and I am glad I will never own one ...
not that I am predigest[8D]

RE: Drove A Harley
My dad lives next door to me and he's got a Sportster 1250 that I ride now and then. I used to have a Honda Shadow myself, and I do have to admit that cruisers are a far more comfortable ride...in the end, I enjoy riding them now and then, but I couldn't own one at this stage in my life. I can see myself being on a cruiser some day...not necessarily a Harley. My next bike WILL be a Ducati 848 or 1098 though, but that's a few years off.

I never rode a Harley, but I rode a friend's Suzuki 1400 Intruder a time or two. It was a nice cushy comfy ride with plenty of torque and power. The only problem was that I couldn't find the damn footpegs (never thought to look in front of my knees) and I kept overreving the motor...lol. After I got on to it, it wasn't bad at all and I can see the allure of highway pegs on long trips. I still prefer my nice tight CBR, though, by a wide margin.

I'd be okay with riding a cruiser if it didn't have those ridiculous fart pipes.

RE: Drove A Harley
I've owned Harleys for the majority of my riding career. I just felt the needfor more agility and precision, which is why I went to my first sport bike, my cbr1000rr (08). Just had it four months, but it is great! The Harleys were great bikes as well, but a different style of riding. As was said in this thread, it depends what type of riding you want to do. I will own another someday, but most likely not without keeping the sport bike, I'm now addicted...

I did see a beautiful panhead today, when I was riding back from a jobsite. This isn't the actual one I saw, but very close:
