that dredded knock.
I have been reading a lot of posts from many forums I go to that tell of another rider loosing their life.
I ride with a club and we have decided to hold lots of BB-Q's and get togethers that include as many of our family members as possible.
reason being is that while we all love riding we all know the risks. and I for one would rather have someone that my wife knows and trust to tell her if anything happens to me over some police officer who has to try to cope with telling people bad news like this all the time. my wife understands the risks and knows that riding is something I cannot give up,
it is part of me. this was something we came up with as a group and its something to take a little bit of the sting away in the event of the worst.
another thing we do is keep on hand with @ least 3 of the riders in the group. all contact #'s and any medical conditions and allergies of everyone who rides with us. this will help the EMT's and the doctors so the best medical care can be given. knowing something as little as one of the riders we ride with has allergies could mean the difference of his life being saved or the wrong medicine being given. also make sure to name a medical proxy in the event that you cannot speak for your self. I for one do not want to live if I have to rely on machines for the rest of my life. we are all a family on the road and I would stop for anyone of you if I saw you were in trouble no matterwhat youare riding, what your race, what your religion, if I know you or not or liked you or not.
just had to put this out there don't know why its been drumming in my head but I feel better getting it out.
R.I.P. all those who went before me. my you find peace
