Yeah this is a much better idea-it will not rot your pipes.[sm=nothatway.gif]

Coat hanger.... bend it around tight on one end and stick it down there. You should see what I pull out of the shower drain. I'm pretty much bald but my fiance's hair is almost 3 feet long. It gets gross.

Its not cyanide, its a chemical reaction of amonia and bleach. The vapor from that mixture can kill you if you're in a small enough space.

Removing the trap will do the best job. If the problem is recurring invest in a simple hand operated drain cleaner or "snake". Like Six, my wife's hair is quite long and there have been times when the clog has been past the trap. A snake comes in very handy at times and, hey, it's a good reason to go to the hardware store. Woo Hoo!

I just had to clean the trap on my kitchen sink and it had all kinds of build up. I have used draino and all those products before and nothing really works; just helps a little. Best thing I got was similar to a snake, but a long hard felxible plastic stick with hooks pointed back, like fish hooks. This pulled all the hair and crap out of there.
