ORIGINAL: MapJr

I took the MSF course in Okinawa, Japan on Kadena Air Force Base. We had to do a figure 8 inside of a rectangle without going outside the lines and without putting our feet down.
Was this a test for a trials bike? [8D]

No not a trials bike Actually you should've seen the decreasing radius turn we had to do. 3 of us out of 12 completed that maneuver. I swear that I counter leaned so far that both feet were on the outside peg. The instructor made me do everything first ... he called me Johnny Rice Racer. It was funny to watch the others try that curve -- some of 'em straightened and ran over cones instead of falling over. About 5 of 'em just stalled and flopped on their side like a fish. If it hadn't been August in GA with a full face helmet, jacket, boots and gloves then it might have been funnier

Well i passed the damn test hehe. Although i put my foot down once, she was nice enough to let me try again. This time rather than feather cluthing, i just let the bike run at idle speed and use rear brake instead. Damn bike got such an agressive lean my arms were shaking as i slam the handle bar against the chassis... Ah well i passed yay heh.

I remember when taking the test about 15 years ago a friend and I took it on a mid 70's KX125 or what ever the Kawasaki enduro was back then. It was much easier on that thing then on a sport or long cruiser.

My best bud at work rides a Big Dog Chopper -- he passed the 'new' test a couple years ago. They must take into consideration the bike you're on because it handles like ****. Congrats on passing your test.

Hehe thankyou. Woulda been easier if i had a Vespa for the test. But if i passed with this bike, that must mean i am safe enough to drive on the street.

Congrats..Waiting to take mine. I thought I would just go to the DMV and take the test but the lady told me when getting my permit that if I take a MSF course they may( 95%of the time they do )waive the test.
